Amanda had reached out to me a few months earlier wanting to set up a Father’s Day photoshoot as a gift during their trip to Vegas to visit her parents. This was a special occasion, not just any Father’s Day gift, since her father was about to become a grandpa. Because they were expecting a baby boy by the middle of May.
We had a lot of communication back and forth regarding logistics. At first I wasn’t sure I would be the photographer to have the pleasure of capturing those beautiful first memories for their family. I was traveling in Hawaii during that time, so I expected I’d have to use one of my other highly qualified photographers. But it ended up working out just barely as I landed with a couple hours to spare before the photoshoot. I was so happy I got to be the one to take those sweet family memories, after talking with Amanda so much.
I was also happy that we had a beautiful day out at Calico Basin. Though we had a little hiccup once we got there, we had to go with a little bit of a plan B, since the wood walkway was closed for maintenance. However we still got some greats photos with the lower part of Calico Basin park and near-by in the desert.
Looking back over the photos as I edit, I can say with a smile “What a better way to capture those sweet memories with your little one and your loved ones than to do a photoshoot?”
